Small conversations can make big changes!

Why tell Lancashire Parent Carer Forum (LPCF) your experiences and thoughts?

LPCF is open to all parent carers of a child or young person who is living with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND), whether diagnosed or not from 0-25 years and who live in, or receive services from the county of Lancashire.

It's about collaborating with our local authority and other services and organisations to ensure services are effective and meet the needs of families.

You can do this through:

Simple, accessible surveys, polls and consultations (see our graffiti wall below)

Opportunities to share experiences (online, in-person, outreach events)

Access to clear, up-to-date SEND Information

Occasional open events /listening sessions

Anonymous feedback options

How Can I Help?

Everything we do is currently voluntary and done by a very small group of dedicated parent carers. A lot of hard work is going on in the background to transform LPCF but we can’t do this alone!

We need lots of help to ensure we can effectively communicate the work we are doing, signpost you to support networks and to share your voice, experience and knowledge at relevant meetings with senior managers. This includes directors responsible for services in education, health and social care. This will ultimately allow you to directly highlight the challenges families are facing and help pave the way for better quality, easier and fairer access to provision

Here's a none exhaustive list on how you can help

  • Spread the Word
Share our website and Facebook community with others.

  • Engage on Social Media
Join conversations on Facebook and help develop and grow our social media platforms, we want to hear your views!

  • Website Support
Assist with the ongoing development and maintenance of our website.

  • Administrative Support
Help with tasks such as updating the website, taking meeting minutes, or creating posts for the SEND newsletter and local news/events.

  • Become a Member
Attend our events (online or in person) to represent parent voices.

  • Become a Volunteer

Become a Volunteer within the forum, there are many roles to fill!  .

  • Event Support
Attend local events and if you're a keen photographer, help us capture those moments.

  • Support Special Projects
Get involved with initiatives like the Partnership for Inclusion of Neurodiversity in Schools (PINS) project.

Become A Parent Volunteer

Being a parent carer of children and young people with SEND can be exhausting and we appreciate your time is limited or even non existent! However those who are able to spare time on an ad hoc or more regular basis we would really appreciate your time.

Become A Member Of The Round Table

We have recently formed the Round Table where local parent carer group leaders collate issues and experiences occurring at ground level to make sure the right people at management level at Lancashire County Council hear about them.
