About this event

When you first have concerns about your child or young person, navigating SEND support can feel like a whole new world of services, processes and acronyms. Understanding the System is designed to help you make sense of it and know where to start.


This session will give you a high-level, practical overview of the support available in the early stages of your SEND journey. We’ll look at who does what, including SENDIAS, SENCOs, Family Hubs and other local services, as well as useful training, information and resources you can access yourself.


We’ll also explain some of the basics you may hear along the way, including the Plan, Do, Review cycle, SEND Support and the SEND Code of Practice, and what these actually mean for your family.
