About this event

Being a parent carer can bring additional pressures, responsibilities and worries, and looking after yourself can easily slip to the bottom of the list.

Family Support: Looking After Yourself Too is a supportive and practical session focused on parent carer wellbeing, acknowledging the realities of caring for a child or young person with additional needs and why your own wellbeing matters too.

We’ll explore some of the challenges parent carers can face, ways to recognise when things are becoming too much, and simple, realistic steps that may help you protect your own wellbeing.

We’ll also look at what support is available for you as a parent carer, including where you can turn locally for information, help and connection.

There’s no expectation to share your personal experiences or speak during the session. Come along, listen and take away whatever feels useful for you.

Because looking after yourself matters too.
